Barnegat Bay 2050

Manahawkin, N.J. – A free seminar about Barnegat Bay, its history, and its future will be hosted from 6-7 p.m. April 11 in the Community Center at Stockton University at Manahawkin, 775 East Bay Ave. The program will be hosted by the Marine Academy of Technology and Environmental Science (MATES), and will be presented by John Wnek, Stockton adjunct professor at Stockton and MATES supervisor.

During the seminar, Wnek will educate attendees about habitats, waterfront property issues, and species that reside in Barnegat Bay. Wnek will also explore the ecosystem’s rich history, looking back as many as 30 years, to make predictions regarding its future.

This event is open to the public. Light refreshments will be provided.

MATES in Stafford Township is a specialized magnet high school operated by the Ocean County Vocational School District which focuses on marine and environmental science themes, and is geared toward students who wish to concentrate their studies in the areas of math and science.
