Options Available for Voting in New Jersey

Mark your calendar for Election Day

Tuesday November 5, 2019

There are two main options available to voters in New Jersey--voting in person or voting by mail. Find information about both options here to help you cast your ballot in this fall's election.

Option 1. Vote in person at your polling place on Election Day

Polls will be open 6am to 8pm on November 5, 2019.

Find your polling place here so you know where to cast your ballot on Election Day.

Option 2. Vote by mail

To get your ballot in the mail, you need to print an application for vote by mail ballot from elections.nj.gov for the county where you are registered to vote. Complete the form with the address where you are registered and the address where you wish for your vote by mail ballot to be sent. Return the form by mail--the County Clerk’s address is listed on the second page of the form and postage is required.

Vote by mail applications need to be received by the County Clerk no later than seven days before the election. To ensure there is enough time to process your application, submit your vote by mail application early.

When you receive your ballot, follow the included instructions to complete it and return it to the County Clerk. Mail it back in before Election Day so the County Clerk receives it in time.
