EYOS Site Migration Checklist

Please follow the below steps when migrating an EYOS site to OU Campus. Please note that many of these steps will require collaboration between project leaders and content managers.

Planning

  1. Consultation between assigned content manager(s) and project leader(s) to go over steps for site migration.
  2. Determine workflow (if applicable) for the new OU Campus site.
  3. Choose a directory name.
    • The directory name will be displayed in the clean URL.
    • Have University Relations & Marketing approve the directory name.
    • Check against list of existing clean URLs. A clean URL may already be in use for the current site and can be used for the new OU Campus site.
    • Determine if sub-directories are applicable as well.
  4. Determine site structure by creating outline/site map of the site to be migrated.
  5. Review and list existing documents (pdfs, images, etc.) on EYOS that will need to be moved to the new OU Campus site.
    • Take note of URLs within documents that will need to be updated upon migration.
  6. Identify any exisiting redirects that link to this site.
  7. Identify any web applications that exisit in the EYOS site (forms, wizards, etc.) and label as:
    • Stays on EYOS with no edits
    • Stays on EYOS but will require edits
    • Can be migrated to OU Campus production server

Site Setup

  1. Build directory(ies) and create blank pcf file in OU Campus based on the site structure determined in step 4.
    • Create images directory.
      • Set allowed/disallowed extensions for directory.
    • Create documents directory.
      • Set allowed/disallowed extensions directory.
    • Set directory variable (ox_ftp_image_root) to default images gallery.
    • Set other directory variables if applicable.
  2. Create Group(s) in OU Campus if applicable.
