Dr. Baum has been a member of the Stockton University community since 2011 and currently serves as Assistant Vice President and Dean of Students. She holds a BA in Fine Arts Rider University, a M.Ed. in  Educational Leadership with a concentration in Student Affairs from the University of Delaware and an  Ed.D. from Rowan University in Educational Leadership and Higher Education. Before Stockton, Dr. Baum worked in Student Affairs at Rutgers University, New Brunswick, and the University of Delaware.

If you were to ask her to describe her job in one sentence, she will tell you: it is her responsibility to create conditions that matter for all students to be successful, no matter what. Dr. Baum’s dedication to higher education and commitment to putting students first can be seen through her research, which focuses on exploring students’ moral development and communication about campus crime and safety, specifically the Clery Act. Dr. Baum works tirelessly to educate and inform about sexual assault and violence on campus and believes that it is everyone’s responsibility to keep our campus communities safe.

In her role as AVP/Dean of Students, Dr. Baum is charged with providing leadership to student conduct processes, case management operations, student support and advocacy, the women’s, gender and sexuality center, critical campus incident response and training, multicultural and interfaith student engagement, student development, fraternity and sorority life, access to basic needs resources such as food assistance and emergency loans, and overall campus and community development. Helping another person find their voice, or their passion in life, is what drives her work and motivates her daily.
