Potential Conduct Sanctions
- Educational Sanctions – These sanctions will be attached to an organization’s Probation. Educational sanctions should promote learning and understanding and provide opportunities to repair harm to the greater community.
- Social Probation - The chapter will be considered on a probationary period, during which they will have all rights and responsibilities restored, but any violations during this time will result in further disciplinary
- Social Suspension - Organization may not host events with alcohol during this time period.
- Deferred Suspension - Organization may continue to regularly function, but failure to follow policies or regulations during this time will result in potential suspension and/or additional sanctions.
- Suspension – Suspension signals a temporary cessation of all organization activities. Suspension terms will be established based on the nature and severity of the offense (including past discipline history).
- Withdrawal of University Recognition – University recognition is withdrawn for a fixed period of time, during which the organization may no longer operate on campus. At the end of the fixed period, the organization may re-apply for university recognition. Failure to comply with this status will jeopardize the organization’s ability to re-apply for university registration.

Formal Apology and Mediation: Alpha Chi Rho must issue a formal apology to the Sigma Pi chapter at Stockton. A facilitated mediation between Sigma Pi and Alpha Chi Rho to promote understanding and address grievances facilitated by Associate Director of Fraternity and Sorority Life no later than December 1st. Educational Sanctions: Alpha Chi Rho is required to complete conflict resolution training by a content expert such as a headquarters staff member, or someone from the university’s conduct office/Dean of Students, no later than December 1st. Workshop topics that would also satisfy this sanction include topics such as responsible citizenship, anger management, accountability, and respect within the fraternity community. This should be attended by 80% of the current chapter members and any/all potential new members involved in a new member process Probation Period: The chapter will be considered on a probationary period until January 20, 2025, during which they will have all rights and responsibilities restored, but any violations during this time will result in further disciplinary action. This probation period will include monitoring of concerns about property destruction, online harassment and threats of disruption to social events sponsored by other organizations on campus.

Chapter Facilitated Conversation: The Chapter leadership will create the opportunity to discuss the incident with the chapter (minimum 80% of the membership). This facilitated discussion will include its impact on all parties, and potential solutions to ensure it does not happen again. This fosters a space for open dialogue and accountability. The Associate Director of Fraternity and Sorority Life will be present to facilitate this conversation with the chapter. This is to be completed by November 18, 2024. Revised Event Planning Guidelines: The fraternity must submit a detailed, revised risk management plan to the Associate Director of Fraternity and Sorority Life for approval, addressing alcohol consumption, guest safety, medical protocols, and the presence of sober monitors at all future events. This is to be completed by November 18, 2024. Alcohol/Drug Safety Workshops: The chapter (80%) is required to host and/or attend a workshop on alcohol and drug safety. This should be facilitated by a content expert, such as a health educator or someone from the university’s wellness center. Required Reflection Assignment: Each member must submit individual reflections on the lessons learned from the workshop, connecting the information to the incident and outlining personal and chapter-wide strategies for preventing future harm. This is to be completed in consultation with the Associate Director of Fraternity and Sorority Life by December 17, 2024. Event Restrictions: The chapter shall be permitted to host Mixers (limited to one co-sponsoring organization) and third-party events (only at contracted venues), but is not permitted to host or cohost invitational parties until January 20, 2025. Probation Period: The chapter will be considered on a probationary period until May 2, 2025, during which they will have all rights and responsibilities restored but any violations during this time will result in further disciplinary action. Required Reflection Report: At the end of the probation, the chapter leadership must submit a final report reflecting on the changes they've made, lessons learned, and steps taken to improve chapter safety and culture. This is to be completed in consultation with the Associate Director of Fraternity and Sorority Life between April 1st and May 2, 2025.

When the chapter was questioned about the women and the sale, they first denied any connection. The next day the chapter president admitted they were three women who wished to join Lambda Theta Alpha and were raising money for their fees. An investigation concluded other activities that potentially violate University policy related to new member activities. |
