How to Use this Site
If you are looking for an individual lesson, program, game, or simulation on a topic related to personal finance or entrepreneurship, FinEd Reviews is for you. But you could really contribute to the project For Teachers, By Teachers by submitting a review.
1. Finding a lesson, program, game, or simulation
The Stockton Center for Economic & Financial Literacy maintains lists of lessons, programs, games, and simulations for use in teaching
and training. The Resource Lists (see the left hand side of the SCEFL page) are arranged
by grade level/age, and so are the reviews in FinEd Reviews. You may consult the
list to scan and locate lessons or to see what curricular materials to review.
2. Reading the reviews
You may peruse the reviews on this website to help select teaching and training materials. You do not need to register on the site in order to read the reviews. Reviews are moderated and uploaded by Dr. Deborah M. Figart, Director of the Stockton Center for Economic & Financial Literacy. Dr. Figart built the Review Rubric based on scholarly literature about curriculum development and design. Please send comments or suggestions for improvement to Deb.Figart@stockton.edu.
The Reviews are arranged by grade level/age:
- Grades P-5
- Grades 6-8
- Grades 9-12
- College & Adults
3. Writing a review
Step 1: Download the SCEFL Quality Curriculum Rubric. (The rubric is in MS Word so that you can easily complete it.)
Step 2: E-mail your completed rubric in MS Word to Deb.Figart@stockton.edu. She will review it and contact you with any questions.
Step 3: When your review is accepted for publication, congratulations! You have helped other teachers and trainers by providing feedback on a curricular resource.
