Writing Groups

Faculty at a FAWN event

FAWN will assist in the creation of writing support groups that provide community, accountability, and feedback for all faculty (full-time, part-time, adjunct) and staff working on academic writing projects (journal articles, seminar papers, grant proposals, textbook chapters, etc.). Members from all disciplines and programs are welcome to join a writing group.

Members will be organized into small groups (3-5 members) depending on their specified writing needs and goals. These groups might be interdisciplinary for the sake of productivity, discipline specific for discreet projects, proposal writing projects, or some mix. The groups may decide to meet weekly or monthly, virtually or face-to-face. FAWN facilitators will provide writing groups with best practices associated with creating functional and productive groups.

Are you ready for a writing group?
1. Do you have a time-sensitive writing project to work on?
2. Do you need outside accountability?
3. Do you have 3+ hours a week to dedicate to writing?
4. Are you looking for feedback on your writing project?
5. Are you willing to commit to meeting with others regularly?

If you answered yes to all 5 questions then you are ready for a writing group! Contact FAWN to be placed in a writing group.

If you only answered yes to questions 1, 2, and/or 3, then a writing goup might not be the best fit for you right now.
Our weekly Show Up & Write Sessions and monthly Writing Boot Camps will be the best fit for your writing needs.
