Class of 2025
Major: Exercise Science
Hometown: Dresden, Germany

Why did you choose Stockton?

I chose Stockton University because the school gave me the opportunity to continue both my athletic and academic career, which was one of my big goals since moving to the United States. Additionally, Stockton offered a great environment for me to grow academically and professionally—as well as personally—at an affordable price.

How did you choose your major?

I chose Exercise Science as my major because it is a continuation of what I already love doing. I have been into sports all my life, and I like to combine this interest with a healthy lifestyle. I also want to stay connected to sports and work with people that share the same passion.

What unique opportunities have you had at Stockton?

My classes in Exercise Science have provided opportunities to connect with the community and put learned skills to use. Evaluating, educating and teaching older adults about the risk of falling and what they can do to prevent such scenarios has been a highlight of my experience in the Exercise Science program.

Tell us about your hands-on experience in the Exercise Science Program.

Most classes have some type of hands-on experience in the form of labs or outside the classroom activities. Depending on the class, labs will allow you to work and practice with medical/health, high-tech and expensive equipment that you will potentially use in your career. Additionally, activities such as service-learning projects allow you to work with the community and put your learned skills to use. The hands-on experiences are some of the most fun times while studying Exercise Science!

What clubs and activities are you involved with at Stockton?

I have been a part of the Exercise Science Club as well as the Stockton Undergraduate Physical Therapy Club. Taking on leadership positions, meeting new people and participating in various events have helped me grow in every aspect.

What advice do you have for students thinking about attending Stockton?

Some will have an easy time, and some will struggle a bit. However, don’t forget that it is a fresh start for everyone. Follow your interests by joining a club, visiting an event or playing a sport. Go to your classes and connect with people who share the same major or interests. This is the time to do your thing and follow your dreams.
