Graduate Writing Tutoring
Welcome to Stockton's Graduate Writing Support page!
About graduate writing support:
Getting feedback on your writing is important, at any stage of the process, for all writers!
Graduate writing support can help grad writers develop their arguments, integrate sources, and more through a socratic questioning method to engage in conversation that encourages recursive writing practices.
Types of sessions:
- Synchronous meeting (in person or online via zoom) is helpful for grads looking to brainstorm ideas, ask specific questions, and review general writing skills.
- Asynchronous meeting (via email) is helpful for grads who have a draft and are looking to receive feedback. The writing consultant will provide comments, link to resources, and ask clarifying questions to help students develop their writing.
How to schedule a session:
Check out Maria Miranda's Osprey Navigate page to schedule a session!
If you have trouble scheduling a session through Osprey Navigate please email Maria at willmaria.miranda@stockton.edu
What to expect in a session:
The goal of these sessions is to guide graduate writers in making clear, organized, and well-developed arguments. The writing consultant will ask you questions to gain an understanding of your topic, your writing goals, and guide you to developing your ideas.
Writing consultants will NOT copy-edit student writing; sessions are intended to help students learn and develop writing strategies.
