What to Expect

After a Referral is Submitted

  1. Stockton Cares Staff will review the referral

  2. Stockton Cares Staff will connect with the student(s) for more information and follow up

    • The student will be connected to a Case Manager who will work directly with the student to determine appropriate next steps, and provide resources both on and off campus that will help the student continue on their Stockton journey.
  3. Depending on the referral, a Stockton Cares staff member may reach out to the referral party to gather more information

    • Based on the nature of the situation and the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), the referrer may not receive updates about the student(s) follow up and services.
  4. If the situation requires an immediate response, Stockton University Police may be called if the referral is related to a threat of harm to self or others

    • If you or someone else is in immediate danger or has a medical emergency, call Stockton University Police at 609-652-4390 or 911.
