Message from the Faculty Director
Dear Colleagues,
At the end of each new season we look to the past for lessons to inform the future. Summer 2025 presented the gaming, hospitality and tourism industries with a variety of challenges and opportunities to grow beyond them.
This issue of LIGHTs On focuses on challenges and opportunities. One article explores how business agreements in the world of online gaming are shaping the casino industry, and another focuses on how local campgrounds are responding to economic pressures and celebrating the natural beauty of the Garden State. This year LIGHT provided an opportunity for a Stockton Hospitality Student by sponsoring her to attend a Model United Nations Conference in Kyoto Japan. Her article in this issue reflects on how the experience changed her life and her perspective.
Additionally, this issue’s leader interview is with Anthony Catanoso, Principal Owner Operator of Steel Pier in Atlantic City.
We hope that like several of this issue's contributers you can reflect back on Summer 2025 with gratitude and renewed passion for the industry and our shared community.
May this issue of LIGHTs On, serve as an inspiration and resource for you and your team as our thoughts turn to the Fall and Winter season.
Sincerely,
Jane Bokunewicz
Faculty Director, LIGHT
