47% Visitors Impacted by the Economy:

Diane Wieland of the Cape May County Department of Tourism reports that 47% of respondents to an annual survey of Cape May County visitors indicated that the economy impacted their travel plans in 2023. Sixty percent of these respondents said they had reduced their vacation spending. Some (8%) canceled their vacation, (44%) others took fewer trips and many reduced their spending on food (39%), attractions (26%), shopping (41%) and lodging (32%).

20,641 Housing Units:

As of 2022, Atlantic City had a total 20,641 housing units. Nearly three quarters (72%) of these units were built prior to 1980. Eight in 10 units in the city (79.8%) were occupied, the majority by renters (69.2%). According to data from the U.S. Census Bureau, 0.8% (124) of occupied housing units in the city lack complete plumbing facilities and 2.2% (358) lack complete kitchen facilities. This is nearly twice the rate of Newark -- 0.4% and 1.3% respectively.

€194 Billion:

In 2022, food tourism in Italy generated €194 Billion, representing 84% of the country's gross domestic product. Italy protects its food tourism with special designations and protections for crops like San Marzano tomatoes, which are cultivated in a specific region with traditional methods, and display attributes specific to their geographic origin.
