Holocaust and Human Behavior:
Using Facing History and Ourselves across the Curriculum for Grades 5-12
- Studying the past within the context of human behavior
- Examining our universe of obligation
- Development of ethical and moral responses for the present in the classroom
- Integration of Holocaust survivor testimonies in the classroom

Dr. Harvey Kesselman, Acting President of Stockton University, welcomed the 70 educator participants from 40 different schools in New Jersey.
Dr. Mary Johnson, Senior Historian at Facing History and Ourselves, began the seminar with a discussion of approaches, scope & sequence, and the overview for the educator workshop.
Teacher seminar participants visited the Sam Azeez Museum of Woodbine Heritage.
Jane Stark, Director of the Sam Azeez Museum of Woodbine Heritage, welcomed the teacher seminar participants.
Dr. Paul Winkler, NJ Commission on Holocaust Education, and Dr. Carol Rittner were both presenters at the teacher seminar. Dr. Rittner’s presentation was based upon her Academy Award Nominated film, THE COURAGE TO CARE.
Gail Rosenthal, Director of the Sara and Sam Schoffer Holocaust Resource Center at Stockton University, welcomed the 70 educator participants from 40 different schools in New Jersey.
