Why did you choose Stockton?

Stockton has a program that directly supports my goal of becoming an event production manager, which I could not find anywhere else.

How did you choose your major?

In high school, I had the opportunity to participate in the Summer Entrepreneurship and Business Academy hosted by the School of Business at Stockton’s Atlantic City campus. That experience sparked my interest in the hospitality field. After further research and looking at career outcomes for the program, I decided it was the best fit for me, and it truly is!

What opportunities has Stockton provided you?

Stockton has provided me with countless networking opportunities, such as twice-annual career fairs and networking mixers within my major. The faculty also give students opportunities to earn certifications through their classes, learn technical skills using software we’ll need in our careers, and connect with people working in fields that interest us. Through the many clubs and organizations on campus, Stockton has also opened doors for me to explore who I am as a person and find my people and interests outside of my major.

What clubs and activities are you involved with?

I am the founder and president of the Stockton University Peruvian Student Association, a sister of Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority, Inc., a delegate of the Stockton Model United Nations team, and a member of the Hospitality Society. I also had the opportunity to travel abroad to Spain with the Stockton University International Model United Nations Team.

What advice do you have for students thinking about attending Stockton?

My best advice is to connect with faculty in your intended major. They’re the ones who will support and guide you throughout your time at Stockton, so building those relationships early can give you a taste of what your experience here will be like and even open doors to new opportunities.

Stockton has provided me with countless networking opportunities.
