Why did you choose Stockton?
I was introduced to Stockton by my older sister, who applied and received Stockton socks in the mail when she was accepted. At first, I applied jokingly for the socks, but after touring the campus and experiencing the welcoming culture, I realized Stockton was the right fit for me. That visit truly solidified my decision to attend.
How did you choose your major?
I chose nursing because I have always had a desire to help others and make an impact on people’s lives. Through my classes and clinical experiences, I have found that nursing encompasses all the things that I desire in a future career. .
What opportunities has Stockton provided you?
Stockton has allowed me to connect with passionate and experienced nursing faculty, and I’ve benefited from resources like the simulation labs and academic support services. Beyond academics, Stockton has also given me the space to grow into a well-rounded student leader, helping me build the qualities and confidence I need to thrive in my future career.
What clubs and activities are you involved with?
I serve as the Academic Affairs Chairperson for the Student Senate, an Area Health Education Center (AHEC) Scholar, and a member of the Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society.
What are your career goals?
I would like to go into oncology nursing because it allows me to support patients during some of their most vulnerable moments. This specialty requires strong clinical skills and deep compassion, and it provides the opportunity to build meaningful relationships, advocate for patients, and make a real difference in their quality of life.
What advice do you have for students thinking about attending Stockton?
I would encourage everyone to take advantage of the opportunities that Stockton offers and not to be afraid to step out of your comfort zone. The more you put into your experience, the more you’ll get out of it!
