Meet Our New Faculty
Fall 2025 Issue
Fond Farewells and New Welcomes
At the end of the academic year, we said goodbye to Biology Instructor Dave Furgione. Furgione worked at Stockton for eleven years. Prior to Stockton, he had a long career in the Absegami School District educating students in the sciences. After a long career dedicated to STEM, we thank Dave for his contributions to the School of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, and wish him well in his retirement.
ποΈ In Memoriam

It is with deep sadness that we report the passing of Dr. Dennis Weiss. Dr. Weiss served Stockton University as dean for over 14 years. He led the expansion of our science facilities, as well as our academic programs including the Sustainability Program. Dr. Weiss was instrumental in securing the grants for the building of the Unified Science Center facillties, helping NAMS take a βquantum leap from rehabilitated early 1980s facilities to 21st century cutting-edge facilities with equipment to match." In addition to the building grants, he was also instrumental in securing a grant from the New Jersey Equipment Lease Fund to equip the Unifiied Science Centers, as well as fund the construction of the R/V Petrel. He and his wife created the Dennis and Susan Weiss Foundation Scholarship to support student travel to attend professional conferences. His many achievements streghtened the School of Natural Sciences and Mathematics and stand as a testament to his devotion to the school. His impact on the sciences at Stockton will endure for many generations to come. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the priviledge of working with him. We extend our heartfelt thoughts to his wife Susan and their family, and peace in the legacy he has left behind.

With our faculty departure, we also welcomed several new faculty and staff members to the NAMS family:

Join us in welcoming them to the NAMS family.
