Workshop Will Assist Teachers Incorporate the Holocaust and Genocide Education Mandate into Their Classrooms

Galloway Twp., NJ The public is invited to attend a free seminar and workshop on the Armenian Genocide on Thursday, April 7, 2005 from 4:00 p.m. through 6:00 p.m. in Stocktons Holocaust Resource Center located on the second floor of the library.
Attendees should arrive by 3:45 p.m. to register for the event. Resource materials will be provided at no cost and 2.0 Professional Development Hours can be earned.
The Armenian Genocide occurred during World War I, between the years of 1915 and 1923. It is estimated that one and one half million Armenians perished during this eight year period.
Presenters for this event will include Dr. Marcia Littell, professor and founding Director of the Master of Arts in Holocaust and Genocide Studies program, Dr. Mary Johnson, Senior Program Associate and instructor at Stockton, and Yeva Kirakosian of the Yerevan University in Armenia.
