Galloway Township, NJ Guests at The Richard Stockton College of New Jerseys 26th Annual Spring Benefit might find themselves behind the wheel of a NASCAR race car, wearing a blue topaz, sapphire and diamond ring or taking an exciting Caribbean cruise, if they are the successful bidders on these or other spectacular auction items that will be up for bid.

The April 8 event, moving off campus for the first time in its 26-year history, will feature spectacular entertainment with Grammy Award-winning performer Roberta Flack taking the stage in the Grand Ballroom at Trump Taj Mahal Casino resort. Stocktons Spring Benefit is an evening of fine dining, live and silent auction items and spectacular entertainment. All proceeds from the event benefit the scholarship fund at the College.

The Gala begins at 6 p.m. Tickets are priced at $200. To purchase tickets or inquire about sponsorship, call the Stockton Spring Scholarship Office at (609) 652-4658.

So much excitement has been generated about the Benefit moving to The Taj Mahal and about the wonderful Roberta Flack providing our entertainment, said Stockton President Herman J. Saatkamp, Jr. We need to emphasize that the auction items available this year are stars in their own right. Some of our guests are going to be acquiring some fabulous items, trips and goods, all for the benefit of scholarships for deserving students.

Saatkamp said some of the top auction items included a Ladies Blue Topaz Sapphire and Diamond ring from Bernie Robbins Fine Jewelry, valued at $3,600; and a Norwegian Cruise Line vacation to the Caribbean, balcony cabin, six, seven or eight days, value $2,500; and a NASCAR Fantasy weekend that includes a day at the races at Dover Downs Raceway and overnight stay, private driving lesson and a chance to drive or ride in the number 84 car, representing Monster Racing.

Some of the other auction items are a Trump Properties Fantasy Getaway, a Margate Bridge Pass and spectacular Golf vacations. There will be a chance to win a luxurious Nathan Levin Mink Coat, tailored and monogrammed to the winner, value $8,500. Drawing for the prize is $20 per chance for the 50/50 raffle and the winner need not be present.

Sponsors for the event include Press of Atlantic City, Wachovia Bank, Commerce Bank, Borgata Heart and Soul Foundation, AtlantiCare and Follet.
