Stockton Sets Annual Pre-Kwanzaa Event for Dec. 9

Galloway Township, NJ The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey will host its annual pre-Kwanzaa celebration at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, December 9th 2005 in the I-Wing Gymnasium here.
Stocktons Kwanzaa event, one of the oldest and largest Kwanzaa celebrations in the region, will again feature traditional African song and dance, vendors selling traditional African wares, and there will be a Kwanzaa feast after the event.
Keynote speaker for the event is Dr. Maulana Karenga, the creator of Kwanzaa and the Nguzo Saba, the Principles of Kwanzaa. Dr. Karenga is Professor of Black Studies at California State University, Long Beach.
The event, open to the public includes the Kwanzaa feast in Upper J-Wing, following the program. Tickets are $7 for the general public, $6 for groups, $5 for students and senior citizens. Call the Stockton Performing Arts Center for ticket information at (609) 652-9000.
