GALLOWAY TWP., N.J. Dr. John Zogby will come to The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey
1:30 p.m., Friday Oct. 28, 2005 to
present and discuss the findings of the second Stockton-Zogby Poll. The Poll will take an unusual look at the New
Jersey gubernatorial race. The event
takes place 1:30 p.m. in Room 102
(Lecture Hall) of the Arts and Sciences Building,
This is the second polling partnership Zogby has undertaken with the College. The first Stockton-Zogby Poll took place during the summer and focused on New Jerseys tourism industry. It drew international media attention, and raised New Jersey and Atlantic Citys tourism awareness at the height of the season.
Unlike traditional political polls that focus solely on candidates and preferences, the latest Stockton-Zogby Poll looks at New Jersey residents attitudes regarding corruption in state government, New Jersey taxes, and the platforms of the major gubernatorial candidates. The poll also differs in that it seeks to inquire beneath the surface level of public opinion, into major issues.
On Friday, Dr. Zogby is scheduled to visit some Stockton classes in the morning and discuss the results of his polls with students (not open to media.)
Dr. Zogby, based in Utica NY, is a noted American pollster who correctly predicted a cliffhanger election in 2000 for President George W. Bush when many of his peers were calling for a Bush landslide. A graduate of LeMoyne College and Syracuse University, he has taught history and political science at the State University of New York, Utica College, and Hamilton College. Currently a Trustee at LeMoyne College, Dr. Zogby received the Alumni Award there in 2000.
