Galloway Twp. The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey Professional Development and Continuing Education for Health Sciences and Human Services will be sponsoring an important professional development opportunity for local allied health professionals. The two day training, Introduction to Myofascial Release, will be held on February 11 and 12 from 9:00 5:00 each day on the Pomona campus of the college.

Myofascial Release (MFR) is a specialized technique used by therapists to treat patients with a variety of soft tissue problems. Fascia is a thin tissue that covers muscles, fibers, and the organs of the body.  The fascia can become tight as a result of injury, poor postural habits, and other events.  Releasing the tightness of the fascia that may be causing pain, limited movement, or postural problems can be accomplished through myofascial release techniques.  The techniques are gentle and typically patients find MFR to be relaxing and effective.

This course offers Southern New Jersey allied health professionals an opportunity to learn Myofascial Release techniques that can be utilized as an effective treatment option for certain clients. Stockton is able to locally offer this continuing education course in an affordable and convenient manner, saving professionals from the expense and time inherent in traveling greater distances to obtain comparable continuing education experiences. Richard Stockton College of New Jersey is an American Occupational Therapy Association Approved Provider of continuing education.
