The Baccalaureate Child Welfare Education Program (BCWEP) is a consortium of undergraduate social work programs in New Jersey who are working in partnership with the New Jersey Department of Children and Families on enhancing recruitment and retention for caseworkers in public child welfare.

Established in 2005, BCWEP provides tuition (minus any awarded scholarships or grants), to selected undergraduate social work students throughout New Jersey to support them during their internship year at the Division of Child Protection and Permanency (DCP&P). Students are placed at local DCP&P offices throughout the state under supervision of credentialed field instructors. Students also take at least one specialized course in child welfare. Successful applicants for the program must commit to working for at least two years in a caseworker position within DCP&P.
